Remote Mental Health Resources

Taking care of our mental health is important in general, but it’s most important now than ever, considering the state of the world. But the fact also remains that when we go searching for resources, most of the stuff we come across is geared towards a foreign, westernized market that doesn’t necessarily apply to the Indian subcontinent.

So, we took the liberty of listing down some resources that address a wide array of mental health stressors and issues, in the hopes of making that search a little easier for you.

To Call

Counsellors on Call

Launched by Project Mumbai, in association with a psychological wellness centre, Counsellors on Call provides emotional support to people around the country, for 12 hours a day.

Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists

The IACP has battled the mental strain of COVID-19 head on, by offering telephonic therapeutic services. They have curated a great list of professionals, along with their contact information and region, to offer you a valuable asset to your mental health.

Varta

Varta is an online service platform, collated by members of the queer community. It is specifically geared to address the problems faced by the LGBTQIA+ community and the process is really simple; select your region, the focus of service they can offer and finally the nature of your problem. Varta is a safe space for everyone.

Association of Psychiatric Social Work Professionals

The APSWP has begun providing online support in the wake of the pandemic. They have collated a list of specialists across regions, along with their contact information, so that you may get the help you need. In addition to this, they also work to break down stigma, misconceptions and myths in the mental health space, which we think is awesome.

To Visit Online

Moodjuice

Moodjuice is a unique experience. It helps you tackle a series of mental issues and stressors in a stepwise manner, before leading you to relevant guides that will help you address the problems you are facing. It encourages reflection before introducing more advanced techniques to help you tackle your issues head-on.

You Feel Like Shit

This is a really quirky website for the days when you don’t feel like putting in any effort. It is interactive in nature, helping create the ideal self-care strategy for your needs. Keep an hour aside to work through it properly, it’s worth the time.

Weavesilk

Weavesilk is perhaps the most unique resource on this list. It is an interactive generative art website, engaging users to create complex patterns that work to lessen levels of anxiety and get you out of your head a little bit. It’s extremely calming, and you can create cool stuff without really knowing how to do digital design.

Over time, we’re going to be building a resource section into our website. Until then, we’ll keep sharing what we find with blog posts like these. Taking care of the mind is so important, that’s why we exist. Take care of yourself, check in with a loved one, and as long as you’re on the journey to wellness, you’re doing great!
